Products are procured after payment and are not Hong Kong ready stock. Availability and delivery timing require confirmation. Days in kit names do not guarantee a full day of nutrition for each person; check portions, drinking water and allergens.

Japanese emergency food comes in several formats: rice that needs drinking water, meals mixed with an included preparation base, ready-to-eat side dishes and preservation biscuits. Choosing between them starts with the preparation method, ingredients and the number of servings you need.

How Best Before pre-orders work

Preorder item — delivery updates will be sent through order notifications. Hong Kong orders of HK$1,000 or more qualify for free SF pickup-point delivery; delivery is HK$36 below this amount.

Supplier costs may change. We will contact you before any change to a paid order. Shipping charges are shown at checkout. Availability for delivery outside Hong Kong must be checked with the store for your destination; this guide does not promise worldwide shipping.

Rice: check whether extra water is needed

[Pre-order] PeaceUp Onishi Rice & Porridge — 9 Varieties requires the drinking water and waiting time stated on each pack. Hot and cold water need different preparation times.

[Pre-order] Satake Mazekomettsu Rice — 3 Flavours, 6 Servings uses an included meal base. Mix it with the dried rice and wait approximately 40 minutes as directed; additional preparation water is not required. It is not an allergen-free or vegan assortment.

Side dishes: add variety alongside rice

The [Pre-order] UAA Japanese Side Dishes — 5 Varieties, 10 Packs includes fish, soup, nikujaga and oden. The [Pre-order] UAA Popular Side Dishes — 5 Varieties, 10 Packs includes stewed hamburger and meatballs as well as fish dishes. Each listed assortment contains five types and ten packs; rice is not included. These retort side dishes do not require added water or heating. Check ingredients and allergens before choosing.

Preservation biscuits are snacks

[Pre-order] Tohato Harvest Sesame Biscuit Tins — 10 Tins provide a snack option alongside meals. A tin count or a supplier's three-day label does not establish complete daily nutrition for everyone.

What to check before paying

  • The exact pack size and number of servings.
  • Preparation water, waiting time and any utensils required.
  • Ingredients and allergens on the individual packs.
  • The proposed dispatch and arrival dates if you have a deadline.
  • Remaining shelf life: a manufacturer's preservation period starts at manufacture, not the day you buy it.

Another five-pack option

Bousaiya LIFE’s five-pack assortment includes soup, cookies, rice, bread and stew. Sourced after payment; check the individual packs for ingredients and remaining shelf life.
